Reopening our school

Fáilte ar ais

The Board of Management and School Staff are looking forward to welcoming all our pupils and parents/guardians back to school for the 2020/2021 school year on Monday, August 31st.

We are satisfied that we have control measures in place to ensure that our re-opening will be as safe as it can be. It will take some time for all of us to get used to the “new circumstances” as we become familiar with the new routines and procedures designed to keep everyone safe and to prevent the spread of the virus. There will, undoubtedly, be some unforeseen challenges and we will deal with these as they arise.

We would like to thank you for your co-operation in making preparations to date and look forward to working with you as we assist the children adapt to the necessary changes. We are also conscious of the fact that our pupils have not been in school since March and that they are looking forward to coming back to school to meet their friends again. We are aware that our new pupils are beginning a school year at a challenging time and have made plans to ensure that their arrival will be as free from stress as possible.

I am personally extremely grateful to the team here for their efforts in reopening our school. Safety and wellbeing are the two principles underpinning all their efforts. Tremendous thought and work has gone into the process by all to make it as safe, practical and reassuring as it can be. I am very proud of each and everyone’s efforts. I extend our thanks to Ms Noreen Walsh, Chairperson of the Board of Management and its members for their help.

Please note that there are no real changes to admission times but a slight change to the dismissal time for each class. This is all to be seen on our school site. These arrangements are on a trial basis. As you know we are living in changing times. You will need to study the plan carefully. Your co-operation is vital for the success of our reopening. There can be no deviation from the procedures and plans put in place. Safety is paramount. Please discuss the plan on the website with your daughter.

If there is any issue which has arisen in relation to your child’s social, emotional or educational welfare since she was last in school, and which you feel the school should be aware of, please e-mail the school at info@stangelasns.ie and the Principal, or another Staff member, will contact you to discuss the matter.

Please see all the necessary documents here on our school web site. If you are viewing on a mobile phone or tablet please tap on each to enlarge. We will be adding an FAQ tomorrow. This section of the school site will be updated and revised as necessary so remember to check back! We will contact you with any really important changes.

Together in Education,

Mise, le meas,

Nessa Maloney
