Important Dates this week
We are really looking forward to two very special dates in our school calendar which are happening this week. The children in the Junior end are so excited about their end of year sports and the students in 6th class, together with their parents, families and teachers are excited to celebrate their graduation from St Angela's. A warm welcome extended to all involved.

Our 5th Class were involved in the wonderful Fighting Words programme this year which enabled each girl to author, edit, illustrate and publish her own book. We had a fantastic book launch in school on Monday. Some of the celebrity guests included Darina & Noreen from our local library and Noreen Walsh, Chairperson of our Board of Management. Darina informed us abput this year's Summer Stars initiative. The event finished with a celebration of fine food!

End of Year Art Displays
Such a magnificent array of our work from all our classes. For our end of year Art & Craft display we put together a very beautiful art display to showcase the fantastic work being done by the children in St Angela's. Congratulations to them and to their teachers. We are so proud of you all. Take some time to study the deatail on each board. It's worth it!

Greece Day 2018
Today our 6th class girls celebrated Greece Day. They dressed up in Greek costumes, many homemade using recyclable materials and brought in some fabulous Greek treats for us all to taste. The Mediterranean sunshine greatly added to the event. This was particularly fortuitous as they got to paint their pottery in the shade and it dried very readily! What a wonderful way to celebrate their work for the Blue Star Programme!

First we visited the Kiltimagh Wetlands Park. Here we met a little baby wren that had fallen out of a tree and needed some help getting back to its Mammy. After that we split up into different groups and went to explore the Wetlands. We identified a lot of different trees around the park, li

Green Schools Action Day
Well done to Ms English and her wonderful Green Schools Committee on their very successful co ordination of our end of year Action Day. Today we had a very 'fruitful' clean up of the grounds, followed by the presentation of prizes to the top battery recycler in each class! The committee also educated us about the importance of recycling batteries. Alan Mee, Castlebar Tidy Towns also visited us and told us about the variety of work and research his group are engaged in. 4th Class display #pureskill on tour
Fourth Class had a wonderful trip to Galway on Friday. They fully utilised all their fundamental movement skills in Pure Skill and learned all about the history of Galway in the city museum. Each of our tours has an #activeschools component and are all truly educational in the broadest sense. Many Thanks to our staff for being so generous with their time and ensuring that memories are made for all. These are #happydays
