Scór na bPáistí Finals April 1st

We are delighted to be represented by five fantastic girls in the Mayo Scór na bPáistí finals tomorrow, Sat April 1st in Breaffy GAA Club. The girls were West Mayo winners in the 'Ceol Uirlise' or Instrumental Music competition and were really complimented on their performance. Below is a picture of the ladies and our other entrants who received great acclaim for their performance also. We ad entries in Set Dancing, Ballad singing, Instrumental Music, Solo Dancing and Solo Singing. Our entries were testament to the great work being done in the school both in classrooms and in the after schools activities we offer. Go n-éirí an t-ádh leis na cailíní tomorrow!

St Patrick's Day Parade

Our ladies performed with great aplomb in the St Patrick's Day parade on March 26th. As usual they set a very high standard, playing tn band tunes and performing routines with maces, hoops, pom poms, batons etc. Sincere thanks to the teachers who have been preparing them since last January. A huge amount of effort goes into our school band and the standard is always so high. We were so proud of them on Sunday!

Planting Spring Flowers

Ms Cronolly's girls planted some seeds and we are looking forward to seeing the results of their work! Check back later. Other ladies went on a nature walk in the Spring sunshine!

Out Of This World Art

In Senior Infants we have been learning about the night sky and the things we can see at night, like the moon and the stars. We made some lovely art about travelling through space. First we coloured in a rocket and cut it out. Then to make our planets we put a circle into a salad spinner. Then we picked three different paint colours to squirt onto the paper. Next we spun the salad spinner around. When we finished spinning the paint around we had a lovely design to use as our planet in our picture. When our spin-painted planet was dry we stuck that onto a black paper, along with our coloured in rocket, and added some stars to our picture too.

A Fun Day With Fred, the Party Professor

We had a very special visitor to St. Angelas. Fred, the Party Professor came to the school to do some shows for Junior and Senior Infants, and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Classes! We were all very excited to meet him! Fred did some juggled basketballs, hoola-hoops, bats and even knives (some of them at the same time too)! He showed us some magic tricks using cards, blackboards and a silk hankerchief and some optical illusions using a spinning disc. Then we got to hear some Fred play us some music on lots of different tiny instruments, including a trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, recorder, flute and tin whistle! We had a really lovely day and it was brilliant show! We'd like to thank Fred for coming to

Tá an méid sin foghlamtha acu - Gaeilge, drámaíocht, scileanna sóisialta srl. Míle Buíochas le Bn Uí Chógáin, Michael, Ms Granahan agus Veina as an tacaíocht a thug siad do na
