Parents' Association Year Review

We had our AGM in October, welcomed new members and recognised the contribution made by our out-going members. Nessa Maloney gave an interesting talk on Internet Safety. We were delighted to make further contributions to the school computer fund with classes attending the computer room at frequent intervals. We began early to plan our annual Christmas Fair which was again a wonderful success with stalls, raffles and a visit from Santa. We would like to thank all who helped and all who donated prizes. Cumann na mBunscol 2017 Division 1B Winners!

There were jubilant scenes in Elverys McHale Park on Tuesday evening last when St Angela's had a historic victory in the girls' 2017 Division 1B Cumann na mBunscol competition. We were super proud of our ladies and the commitment and courage they showed during the match. Together with their trainers, Ms Kelly & Ms McNamara these ladies have shown great commitment to train after school and during lunch breaks. Their hard work and determination really paid off and was clearly evident. Congratulations must be extended also to the ladies of Breaffy NS, Ballina and their teachers for the wonderful sporting game we enjoyed and to the match referee Mr Michael McHale. None of this would be possi

Water, Water everywhere!

2nd and 3rd classes were very luck to have some very special visitors yesterday. The 2 Seán's, Laura and Toni explained where and what exactly happens to the water that comes out of our taps. We are all having 4 minute showers from now on so that we don't waste this valuable resource of ours.

Rice Krispie Fun

2nd Class had great fun yesterday making Rice Krispie buns and then eating them.

Success Stories!

We had some great success stories here recently across a variety of areas! Well done to these ladies, Sarah, Natalia and Sarah - great achievers in diverse fields.

Senior Infants on Tour

Last Thursday Senior Infants went on tour to Kiltimagh to visit the Wetlands Park and Maghu's Castle! When we got off the bus in Kiltimagh we went to visit the Wetlands Park first. Here we went bird watching, visited a bug hotel, learned to identify a lot of different trees and even went pond dipping too! After exploring all the nature in the Wetlands Park we went to Maghu's Castle to play. First we played inside in the ball pit and on the soft play area and then we had our lunch; yummy chips, nuggets and sausages, with some ice-cream for dessert. Then we went to play outside in the sunshine. We climbed all over the climbing frame, tried the Zipline and slides and helped push each other

Hoodies

Look what has landed - a very special delivery!!! Great excitement! Thanks to Ms Moran & Ms O'Malley the ladies designed and bought their own hoodies to remember each other going forward.

Coffee Morning for the Children's Ward

Our staff very generously gave of their baking and entrepreneurial skills and hosted a coffee morning here. They raised a considerable amount of money which went towards the purchase of toys for the Children's Ward in Mayo University Hospital. Above you can see images of the two main co-ordinators Laura Derrig & Patricia Dunne presenting some of the gifts to the people who give tirelessly of their time and energy to the children in the hospital.
